Which is the Best Tactical Knife?

When it comes to tactical knives, it’s really about the use your looking for. Different people have different needs, like different situations demand different tools. When deciding upon which is the best tactical knife it really comes down to the needs that you’re trying to cover. A civilian looking for a knife for self-protection is surely needing a different tool than a soldier in battle.

Below are some of the top rated knives in this field:

Zero Tolerance ZT-9 Bayonet Knife

This is one of the sturdiest knives on the market. You couldn’t break it even if you tried. It may not be the fanciest and prettiest looking knife but it’s surely worth the money. I’ve put it to the test chopping 3 inch thick pinetrees and it still was so razor sharp afterwards that I could have shaved with it if I wanted. If you’re not sure which tactical knife to pick, go for this one because it’s well built that it’s suited to multiple tasks. The S30V stainless steel is one of the most robust materials that a knife can be made of. It’s easy to sharpen and will keep an edge for a long time. It’s perfectly suited for camping as well as there is no task that this tool can’t handle. This is the knife that will probably last you for a lifetime.

Ka-Bar Kraton Handled Big Brother Knife

Specifications

  • High quality 9 5/16 inch blade made from 1095 Cro-Van steel
  • Durable handle made from black kraton G
  • Overall length: 14 1/8 inch
  • Blade Thickness 0.165
  • Includes heavy-duty leather sheath

This tactical knife chops wood well but is not specifically designed for this task as it has a slightly thinner blade. A thicker blade knife would be more appropriate for the job but it would increase the weight of the knife. It’s a well balanced knife in spite of its size. It has a great finish and ergonomics. It has a great handle and it wasn’t slippery even when my hands were wet or sweaty. It has nice lines and is pretty easy to maintain it’s sharpness. Being a Ka-Bar, it’s historically well suited for combat situations although you can handle any chore with it. Overall it’s a great knife that you can depend on whatever the situation might be that you find yourself in.

Zero Tolerance Fixed Blade Tactical Knife

Specifications

  • S30V stainless steel with Tungsten DLC coating
  • Blade length: 4 1/4 inches (10.8 cm); Overall Length: 8 inches (20.3 cm); Weight: 9.1 oz

I’ve had this knife for some time now and I can say that it’s worth every penny. The blade is made of a large chunk of S30V stainless steel which makes it virtually impossible to break. Some of you may have concerns about its size. I can say that I had those concerns as well, but don’t let yourself mislead by first impressions. Although I have a big hand, this knife fits really nice and has a good grip. I’ve taken it on camping trips in the mountains and it had no problem facing any chore, in spite of its small to medium size. Its really quite impressing how Zero Tolerance overbuilds the knives they manufacture. It comes with a sheath that has a leather strap to fasten the blade in. The manufacturer describe their product as follows: ” All-around premium knife steel that takes and holds an edge extremely well; also extremely tough and wear resistant”.
